My name is James and I suffer from depression, insomnia, acne, allergies, fatigue, and low self-esteem. Wait, let me start over
Last year I started a health and lifestyle transformation, which if I hadn't implemented, I would probably still be in the same boat. For over a decade, I abused my body by making bad dietary choices and adopting some really damaging habits. It wasn't until that lifestyle started to seriously impact my health that I actually made some changes. The turning point occurred after incorporating whole foods, supplements, exercise and meditation into my everyday life. What can I say? It worked! It was incredibly challenging, yet once I started to notice a shift in how I looked and felt, I was motivated to further embrace this healthier way of living. Since then, I have sought advice and guidance from personal trainers, nutritionists and wellness counsellors to further assist me on my journey towards optimal wellbeing. My video gives you a glimpse of my former self and also the new me.
By the way, it's not just the endorphins talking, I am happier now than I've been in a very long time and I wish all Canadians that same success.

The last theme is on Advice! That is kind of funny for me, because I always warn people do not get me going on health and fitness and supplements. I love to talk about it. I think the best way to succeed in life is to act on the advice we give to others. People have seen my results from fat to thin, to healthy and in shape. People ask me to talk to them about fitness and weight loss all the time, and this is because I have taken my own advice, so they trust my knowledge. My knowledge base into supplements, diet and exercise for weight loss, started over 13 years ago. But I still look and read and keep up with the new evidence and studies out there and am not afraid to change and adapt things according to what is now known. And that is my ADVICE, listen to what people tell you, look at what the experts say, they have more knowledge than you, take the time to study what you have learned, because I have found if I understand the reason I am to do something I will be more successful in following the advice, and then put it into application in your life. A good example has twice the value of good advice! by | | 217 votes

In February last year I went to the men’s hockey game at the Winter Olympics and got stuck in my seat, and I do mean STUCK! That’s the day I decided I had to radically change my health and fitness. After 46 years of being overweight I was determined to get healthy. I lost 106 pounds and gained a whole new me!
It was difficult walking into a gym every day and feeling very intimidated. It was like learning a new language but I was determined to change and become fit. A healthy eating plan and lots of exercise started to slowly transform my body. I discovered new energy reserves, overcame depression, high blood pressure and feel younger today in my 50’s than I did in my 30’s. I am astonished when I can shop in regular stores now and the clothes fit me.
Osteoarthritis and a recent knee injury make this journey challenging but an inner drive to become fit has always propelled me forward even when it was very difficult and I wanted to quit. I am very grateful for a second chance at life. I hope to inspire others to healthy eating changes in their lives.

5 Months ago I had hit my rock bottom. I weighed 245.9 pounds at my heaviest. There will be no excuses in this story, just truths. I ate fast food 5 times per week, and did not care what I ate in between. Time and time before I told myself I needed a change, That was then. Today I weigh 179 Pounds, I am confident, outgoing, & successful. Told my self I wanted to look good, wanted confidence. I have lost almost 70 pounds in 5 months. I started it with a BANG. I went through my house and chucked everything that was processed & full of sugar. Naturally this did not leave me with too much. I filled the cart with fruits, vegetables, skim milk, yogurt, nuts, whole wheat bread, Multivitamins, meal replacement shakes, and a detox programme. April 1st, the day I was going to change for ever. I joined a gym, I went for one hour almost every single day, cardio, weight training, and a new attitude. My Bodylogix Advice to You is to stay 100% positive, do not get down on yourself, look for help from friends, stay inspired, and use resources available, but most of all get EXCITED. Feel empowered, by being empowered. by jestdempsey | | 64 votes

My Bodylogix advice would be.....HELP IS OUT THERE! Too many Canadians are stuck in a rut, yet when one stops and reflects, one will see there is help out there. Take this contest for example...I am very glad that I have had the chance to read the stories that have been put through and many of them have been very inspiring to me and my family. Take the examples of mrussell01234 and her marathon adventure or tadhansen and his amazing transformation!!!
Your inner spark must drive you to achieve the impossible and the willingness must come from within. I know this is tough, I have gone through my own transformation and it is one of the hardest thing you will ever do. I had to do it on my own! Now, HELP IS OUT THERE FOR YOU!
Bodylogix was foreign to me before this contest, but now, I am a registered user and website will allow you to tailor your own exercise routines. Even more amazing is that Bodylogix will even provide you with free online trainer and nutritionist to motivate you!
Catch that spark and change your life for the better!
Remember to have fun and TAKE THE STAIRS!!!!

**Hi there! My Bodylogix Health & Fitness story starts back in the Spring of 2008. I became very ill & experienced multiple symptoms including chills & mini strokes. I had traveled from Hospital to Hospital across the lower Mainland of Vancouver & met with numerous specialists. After going through many tests, I was still not diagnosed. Months later, I was taken to a Hospital which finally diagnosed me with Endocarditis, a rare HEART disease at a rare time in my life (I was only 25). I spent the Summer of 08 in the hospital & after recovering from open heart surgery was finally discharged to go home.
A couple years later, I am working on keeping my heart happy & fitness level up to speed. I watch what my daily intake is & practice power yoga every evening. This past June, I participated in the Big Bike ride for the Heart & Stroke Foundation & plan on volunteering for different charities that will help the efforts in finding a cure for heart disease.
Watching what I eat & committing to a fitness routine has helped me feel confident that my heart will keep on beating until I grow old. Hope you enjoyed my health & fitness story, my fingers are crossed for that beautiful vehicle that I am in need of. Thank you =) by Pam*luvurheart | | 21 votes

One day I put a size 16 dress on for a party and it was getting snug! I couldn’t look or feel this way any longer! I felt tired.I was on my way to getting diabetes and who knows what else? I didn’t want to be unhealthy and I needed to lose the weight from having 2 children and obviously neglecting myself. I work full time. I am renovating. I have active children. I had EVERY excuse in the book. I had no time and I did not like to exercise.I thought, how can I get over this hurdle and make this work with my busy lifestyle? I started with an I CAN DO IT ATTITUDE! I HAD to do it! I wanted to be a positive role model for my children and get over the all the hurdles!
The first change I made was with my diet. After writing down and actually seeing everything I ate… I couldn’t believe how much l was eating! I cut my large portions in half and increased my protein! I pre-made healthy muesli breakfasts so that I could grab and go during the busy mornings, getting the kids to school and myself to work. I don’t always have time to make lunch so in-between I ate some healthy frozen lunches, but you really have to read the labels! I had to be realistic because lifestyle changes cannot be made overnight! Baby steps first and then everything else becomes second nature. Supplements and shakes are very important too. I bought 2 bullet mixers. One was for work and the other one for home so that I could have healthy protein shakes and smoothies.I also cut out all my junk food and desserts. No more chips! Ok so maybe not no more chips. Once in awhile you can have ‘Pop Chips’ without the guilt. They taste great and have the lowest calories and fat per serving. Pre-making your meals will stop the urge to buy on impulse from the coffee truck or convenience restaurants.
Drinking more water was also a challenge for me. I do not like the taste of water. I add lemon or decaffeinated green tea to my water. The lemons help detoxify and green tea helps burn calories and burn fat! Flavoured water is always yummier than plain old water!
Now that I had a handle on my food intake, I had no clue where to start with an exercise regime. I had some exercise equipment but did I know how to use it effectively? Of course not! Medicine balls, hand weights and resistance bands for example were not being used. I hired a personal trainer for 20 sessions.I decided my sessions would work best in my tiny little office immediately after work. My trainer taught me easy routines that were varied and quick. We did a lot of interval training. It makes the workouts quick and interesting. Changing up the exercises surprises your body and works much better than doing the same exercises all the time!I was surprised how quickly the time went by!A personal trainer has so many different exercise routines and is a great motivator!
I decided to motivate other employees and had my personal trainer come in for lunch sessions! My colleagues were loving my results and wanted to change for a healthier lifestyle as well!We had the convenience of staying at work and not cutting into our ‘family’ time at a very low cost. I am so happy I was able to motivate them! We are constantly sharing our ideas on how to live healthier! Everyone is on my healthy lifestyle change and I will continue to motivate anyone who feels that they cannot fit ‘healthy’ into their life. All hurdles can be overcome!
It’s now just over a year later and I am wearing a size 6 dress to a party and I feel amazing! I am inspiring friends, family and colleagues. I have more energy than ever and am a positive role model for my family and my kids. I workout 3 times a week. I don’t have any more excuses. I have learned exercises that I can do on my own or at the office. I dance ballet in the evenings and play tennis early mornings.I keep it fresh by researching new exercises in magazines, the internet and even apps on my phone. There are no more excuses. I will always keep an active lifestyle and never look back.

Hi, my name is Dan and I am 21 years old. In the photo, I am working cleaning out gutters. I chose this photo because it depicts physical activity and a healthy me. The gutter is also symbolic of what I have worked my way out of, a degraded life of drugs and alcohol. It is me after I emerged from doing time for doing drugs. Out of prison, I found a new addiction – exercise. I indulge in it every day. It’s a great high. I support my new habit with good nutrition and mental workouts at the local school. Yes I found the perfect fix exercise and education, otherwise known as E2 the essential 2. Now, I indulge in little else. by Essential2 | | 12 votes

“My Bodylogix advice for others” would be to … pay attention to your body. It knows what it need, likes and lacks. Often we try to force our bodies to do what we want but while sheer willpower will go far, it will not last forever. It’s better to work with your body to find your special balance. Your wonderful body will tell you if it likes to sprint into a fast and short workout or if it rather have a slow warm-up and a long hard session to follow. Your cravings may also tell you a lot about what you may lack. If you crave meat and find yourself tired, you may be lacking iron. If you find that you never have any energy in the afternoon, you may not have enough vitamin B. If you find yourself craving sugar, your liver might not be working at its best and you may benefit from a detox. Not everyone’s body works exactly the same, so each one of us has to find out how to keep our unique body healthy. Bodylogix can help you set up a routing that suites you both. Remember, your body is your best buddy. by adra | | 11 votes
